The unique, D-profile granule of GE Medisorb is a safe and effective CO2 absorbent when used in accordance with the accompanying instructions for use.
D-profile granules permit a better distribution of gas flow throughout the entire absorbent bed. Because the D shape decreases the absorbent’s tendency to pack or clump, it provides greater contact (the entire granule’s capacity can be utilized) between the patient’s exhaled gas and the absorbent. Since it is the intent of the absorbent to remove all the CO2 in the patient’s exhaled gases, the result is a more effective CO2 absorption capacity.
